About Al-Ameen

Al-Ameen Islamic Development New Zealand, a registered non-profit charitable Trust established in Newlands/Wellington New Zealand, is dedicated towards the advancement of Islam through passing the faith to others by promoting it, spreading its message, and taking positive steps to sustain and increase the religious belief.

Mission

To provide sufficient and necessary services to Muslims in the Greater Wellington and New Zealand.

Al-Ameen Islamic Development New Zealand aims to:

  • Enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong to foster the true path, beliefs, and practices of Islam.

  • Develop and maintain a strong Islamic character of members of the Muslim community of Greater Wellington and New Zealand.

  • Spread the word of Allah with wisdom and patience.

  • Create public awareness of Islam and promote it at the highest level.

  • Create an environment in which Muslims can practice their belief with ease.

  • Constructively co-operate with people of all religious denominations, thereby informing of Islam and inviting them to Islam

  • Actively involve with the wider community and encouraging Muslims participation in community development.​

Vision

A well established and run a multi-ethnic and vibrant Islamic centre that successfully caters to the religious, educational and social needs of the Muslim communities of Greater Wellington and New Zealand.

Focus

  • To pursue educational aspiration through counselling, spiritual, and educational services as well as delivering programmes to meet the needs of the community i.e., particularly the youths, in Greater Wellington and New Zealand.

  • To establish and maintain a high quality educational and development programme for the children and youth, via:

    • Sunday School for children

    • Evening Quran Classes for adults and children

    • Educational Seminars and Lectures

    • Youth and Adult Classes

    • Holiday Programmes

  • Develop unity, harmony and cooperation within the Muslim community by providing excellent services, via:

    • Five Daily Congregational Prayers (Salah)

    • Friday Congregational Prayers (Jumaah)

    • Ramadan Congregational Prayers (Taraweeh)

    • Eid Congregational Prayers (Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha)

  • To relieve poverty by assisting the underprivileged members of the community by providing food, clothing, and meeting any other needs they may have.

  • To assist with settling refugees and new migrants to live and work in New Zealand and to connect with the wider Muslim community and Kiwis in general.

  • Administer properties (for example land, buildings, facilities, intellectual property) owned by the Trust.

  • Cooperate with other organisations and government bodies whose purposes are similar to those of the Trust, as determined by the Trustees.
