Marriage Celebrants

Al-Ameen Islamic Development NZ is a registered Celebrants organisation with the Department of Internal Affairs (https://celebrants.dia.govt.nz/#organisational), and currently has following appointed organisational marriage celebrants:

Required information

The following information will be required on the day of the Nikah ceremony, and it is important that you and your future spouse ensure you have this information ready and have discussed any special conditions (Such as Dowry) well in advance and have agreement on relating matters.

  • Husband’s full name (As shown in passport).

  • Husband’s date and place of birth.

  • Husband’s residential address.

  • Wife’s full name (As shown in passport).

  • Wife’s date and place of birth.

  • Wife’s residential address.

  • Guardian’s name.

  • Guardian’s relationship.

  • Celebrant’s / officiator’s full name (As shown in passport).

  • Witness 1’s full name (As shown in passport).

  • Witness 1’s residential address.

  • Witness 2’s full name (As shown in passport).

  • Witness 2’s residential address.

  • Special conditions, including Mahr, and/or any other conditions that you have both agreed on. Please ensure proposed conditions are in line with Quran and Sunnah, and that you have already discussed those details (In advance) with the celebrant/officiator.
